Description Interest
New Haven Academy provides a rigorous education that prepares all students to succeed in college and become active citizens able to make informed decisions about their lives and their communities.

We work to build a racially, ethnically and economically diverse student body, provide individual attention for every student, and guide students through the difficult transition from middle school to high school.

New Haven Academy graduates will be independent thinkers who ask critical questions and who develop and defend their own ideas. In order to achieve this vision, New Haven Academy is a learning community in which all members - staff, students and parents - know each other well.

An Open Streets Family Reunion: Reflections from the 2018 Open Streets Summit

By Ryan O’Connor, Director of Programs, 8 80 Cities Recently 8 80 Cities wrote a blog post about open streets being a labour of love. Affordable Housing Loss Grows as ‘Qualified Contracts’ Sap Thousands of Housing Credit Units

LISC is pressing Congress and state housing officials to address the troubling effects of QCs, which reduce the amount of rental housing that is available to families with low incomes. " As a country, we can’t afford to let that continue,” write LISC’s Matt Josephs and Michael Skrebutenas, in a new commentary on the issue. "We can’t afford to subsidize affordable housing development for public good only to watch it slip away for private windfall."

LISC CEO Lisa Glover takes stock of the state of the organization, its priorities for the year, and how to balance knowns and unknowns as we work to maximize our impact in communities in 2023.
