Every five years, Congress authorizes several of the programs that feed our nation’s children when school’s in and out. A recent USDA release shows that hunger has continued to rise across the country as the economy flounders, affecting as many as one in four children. Here in Connecticut, 13% of children are hungry or at risk of hunger. We must speak up and act now!
During the 2008 Presidential campaign, President Obama pledged to end child hunger by 2015. This year will be our best opportunity to capitalize on that pledge, and make sure that the Child Nutrition Programs are adequately improved and funded.
Join providers, community members and advocates as we present both the national and local landscape, along with many opportunities for advocacy with Connecticut’s members of Congress. They need to hear from us in 2010 more than ever before.
We will have guest panelists from Washington, DC, and elsewhere. Join us for this free webinar.
