Event Description

This event features a facilitated discussion about policy issues that are relevant and meaningful to the business community.

This year’s Policy Summit will focus on “Building an Equitable Economy: Generating Wealth.” Conversations will focus on the K-12 education system, supporting minority entrepreneurs, and building an equitable economy in Greater New Haven.

The newly appointed Superintendent of New Haven Public Schools, Dr. Madeline Negron will share the current state of the New Haven Public Schools system and outline her vision as she steps into the new role. Dr. Negron will discuss the challenges that NHPS currently faces, the steps the administration is currently taking, and outline her plan to ensure NHPS students are prepared for success after graduation.

The first panel will focus on the barriers to entrepreneurship from a panel of entrepreneurs and support organizations, and a second panel of legislators will discuss new ideas and solutions to address K-12 education, support minority entrepreneurs, and generate wealth. The Policy Summit will feature thorough conversations where you will hear experts share their experiences and ideas on how we can build an equitable economy in New Haven and create a model for the rest of the state to follow.

Join us immediately following our program for a networking reception with delicious food and drinks!
