Event Description

On Wednesday, February 15 from 4 PM to 7 PM, both UI (electric) and SCG (gas) customer service representatives will be on-site at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church on Whalley Avenue to enroll customers facing financial hardship directly into assistance programs. We will also be joined by Community Action of New Haven to assist in enrollment for additional assistance programs, and Operation Fuel may join as well. This will be the third iteration of this outreach program in our service territory – from the first two (Hartford and Bridgeport), we had a combined 130 customers sign up for our assistance programs, so we’re really looking forward to bringing this to New Haven as well.

We want to reach as many customers as possible who might benefit from this assistance, so I’ve attached a flyer describing the program and what customers should bring with them on the evening of the event to aid in their enrollment. I’ve also attached an overview of the assistance programs we offer, which are the same programs customers will be able to enroll in on Feb. 15.

Please feel free to send this out broadly, whether to your colleagues, to nonprofit organizations in your ward, and to any other stakeholders you think might benefit from having the information – the more, the merrier!

How the Federal Reserve and LISC are Supporting Families with Heirs' Property

Natavia lives in the 800 square-foot family house her grandmother bought on the east side of Jacksonville, Florida almost 80 years ago. Natavia is the third generation to call the property home. “I value the house for the memories,” she said. “I grew up spending the summers with my grandma, hearing the stories of her walking to work way on the other side of town, just to have a home.”

Investing In A Future For Us All: LISC’s 2023 Annual Report is here!

It was a year of new leadership, new vision and renewed commitment. We invested an extraordinary $2.4 billion and doubled down on our work to create affordable housing, catalyze financial opportunity and promote climate resiliency. And so much more.

LISC and Partners Launch “What’s Possible”: A Blueprint for Sustainable American Communities

LISC, Enterprise Community Partners and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York have published What's Possible: Investing NOW for Prosperous, Sustainable Neighborhoods. With contributions from LISC green and financing experts, the volume is a timely and crucial guidebook to equitable green investing and community development and especially timely on the heels of the historic $20 billion in federal investment to expand access to clean energy and climate solutions.
