Event Description

Come learn about the fascinating Morris Creek salt marsh ecosystem! Morris Creek is an elusive Land Trust Preserve that can only be accessed through Lighthouse Point Park.

Our guest speakers will be Lynne Bonnett from the Bioregional Group and John Cox, a knowledgeable and tireless NHLT volunteer. Lynne will speak to us about Tuttle and Morris Creeks from their headwaters to the Long Island Sound and speak about some of the challenges these creeks face in light of nearby municipal development. John Cox will teach us about some of the history of the area and about the ecological value of salt marshes.

The walk starts at 6 pm from the Butterfly Garden at Lighthouse Point Park (look for the red New Haven Land Trust truck).

Walk is cosponsored by the Bioregional Group.

Thank you to the Quinnipiac River Fund and the New Haven Parks Dept for making this event possible!
