OneWorld Honors Remarkable Contributors for Black History Month
Throughout the month of February 2014, OneWorld will post various information in honor of black people who have made various contributions and inspired many. Of course, we will only scratch the surface; however, we hope to shine a light on some that might not be as well known.
We will list our post in reverse order with the latest listed first.
Our Feb 5, 2014 honoree is Lorraine Hansberry: Brilliant Playwright, Intellectual and Activist. She is best known as the author of Raisin In the Sun, but she did a whole lot more.

Feb. 1, 2014 Starts Black History Month (BHM)–OneWorld Progressive Institute will be making daily BHM postings. We invite you to check in and share our postings with others. Start a BHM folder of positive information to share with your children, friends and colleagues. Today’s feature is Marcus Mosiah Garvey. On Wed. Feb. 5, 6-8pm, Stetson Library, Dixwell Ave., will offer a film and discussion titled: The Life of Marcus Garvey, presented in cooperation with The Golden Hour.
Marcus Garvey said "A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots."
