In the current world political climate when extreme nationalism is growing in many countries, understanding what happened in the Weimar Republic of Germany and the rise of Nazism can provide important lessons for today. The upcoming program at SCSU will include a live/Zoom presentation by author Merilyn Moos, whose father escaped Nazism to England. Her book about anti-Nazi Germans reveals much about the political climate in Germany during the Weimar years, the war, and the hidden history of resistance within Germany. Her book was co-authored by Steve Cushion who provides amazing stories of heroic resistance in France and other countries.

EPA Awards GRID Alternatives Solar for All Grant

LISC partner GRID Alternatives has been awarded a $249,800,000 Solar for All grant from the EPA to advance renewable and clean energy sources for affordable housing communities across the country. “The grant is an incredible boon to the movement to decarbonize homes and lower energy costs that burden millions of everyday Americans,” said Michael T. Pugh, president and CEO of LISC.
