IRIS- Integrated Refugee and Immigration Services: Urgent Appeal for Apartments and Beds

Refugees arriving this week need Two 2-Bedroom Apartments and Seven single Beds

We are welcoming two refugee families this Thursday, September 15th.  One is from the Democratic Republic of the Congo: a single mother with four young children.  And one is from Liberia:  four daughters (17, 10, and 6 year old twins)  reuniting with their father who has lived here since 2005.

As always, we want to give our newest Americans a warm welcome.  But, with so many refugees arriving over the past two months, we are having difficulty finding apartments and beds.

We need two 2-BR apartments in or near the East Rock area or in West Haven.

And we need seven beds; that’s single (twin size) beds.   We need the mattresses, the box springs, and the bed frames.

We have just about all of the other necessary furniture, thanks to Helping Hands, the great used furniture store on State Street.

If you know about a 2BR apartment that is available and affordable --- PLEASE let me know.

And if you are aware of any extra beds  -- PLEASE let me know.

You can call me on my cell any time:  860 805 7805

Thanks
Chris
