I believe in Big ideas and audacious goals. My Non-profit works in the social mission sector here in New Haven. We are working to find ways to bridge across systemic issues that are effecting the poor, the marginalized, and empowering neighborhoods in our city. We have been working to develop a business incubator that can help support new initiatives and serve non-profits as well as help entrepreneurs wanting to make a contribution in the social mission sector.
My Goal is to break down the silo mentality that occures and act as a third party advocate to broker collaboration, and co creating between groups of people, non-profits and organizations. For more information about our incubator check out www.grovenewhaven.com
Innovation and social mission can play an important role in helping deliver many key objectives in New Haven by:
* enabling individuals and communities to work towards regenerating their local neighborhoods,
* showing new ways to deliver public services
* helping to develop an inclusive society and active citizenship.
Our work is designed to mobilize the social mission sector to embrace innovation. Social innovation is the process of taking new ideas and turning them into solutions that can solve social, cultural, economic and environmental problems. I believe that Social innovation can creates systemic change.
The pursuit of ideas for a better world is the economy we work in. We often need a place to bring our ideas - a place to find new ideas and connect with others who are willing to collaborate. This is our opportunity to exchange ideas that can spark projects and launch initiatives that bring about true positive social change, while working to address real systems change. I look forward to meeting others and building together.
