Job Announcement: Director of Development and Marketing
Arts Council of Greater New Haven
Responsibilities:
The work of the Arts Council of Greater New Haven is supported by government and foundation grants, and contributions from corporations and individuals. The Director of Development and Marketing is responsible for the overall development program of the Arts Council. Specific responsibilities include: researching and preparing foundation and government grant proposals and final reports; managing the Annual Appeal; soliciting sponsors for special events; and working with the board Development Committee to coordinate prospecting and cultivation of major donors.
Key to the Arts Council’s mission is marketing and promotion of the arts in our region. The Director of Development and Marketing oversees the marketing program of the Council, supervising the Communications Manager and the Editor of the Arts Paper. The Director coordinates print materials for fundraising events such as the annual Arts Awards luncheon. Because the Arts Council works on many collaborative marketing initiatives, the Director also works with partner organizations to coordinate efforts to promote the region’s arts and culture assets.
Requirements:

Exceptional writing, editing, and proofing skills are essential. The candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills and outstanding organizational capabilities. He/she should be a team player who enjoys a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will also possess a passion for the arts and knowledge of the New Haven community.
