Communities In Connecticut Eat For A Cause By Dining Out

To Make A Difference

AIDS Project New Haven, along with 32 CT restaurants

to raise $35,000.00 in one day.

 

On Thursday, April 24, 2014, 3,000 diners in Connecticut will stand up against HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses by sitting down at a participating Dining Out for Life restaurant, helping to raise crucial fund for those battling illness. In a single day, 30+ Connecticut restaurants and community supporters will raise an estimated $35,000.00 to support AIDS Project New Haven’s mission of providing life sustaining services, at no cost, for those coping with HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses. Participating restaurants will donate a minimum 25%  of their food and beverage sales to AIDS Project New Haven on Dining Out for Life day. All diners will be entered into a drawing to win the fabulous prize of 2 airline tickets for travel on JetBlue Airlines. Diners will also have the option to make an additional donation.

 

In Connecticut 32 restaurants in Branford, Bridgeport, Hamden, New Haven, Hartford, Middletown, Orange and Milford will be participating. Dining Out for Life in Connecticut benefits AIDS Project New Haven, the oldest AIDS services organization in Connecticut.

LISC and Enterprise Community Partners have released a joint white paper that catalogs how CDFIs have engaged with the capital markets in recent years. In an accompanying blog, the authors explain why this data is so critical, as economic pressure affects the availability and cost of capital for high-impact community development efforts. "The goal is to help impact investors identify how and where they might put their capital to work and what expectations they should have for performance,” they write.

Foot Locker Foundation Announces $4.5 Million for Community Grants through LISC

Foot Locker Foundation continues its collaboration with LISC to promote youth empowerment through mentoring, career development, and health and wellness activities—all while supporting community-based organizations with diverse leadership. A new $4.5 million commitment will support three annual grant application rounds. Proposals for the first round are due by August 30, 2023.
