Shirley,

Welcome to GNH Community, glad to have you join us. Members may post information that they think will be of interest to nonprofits, civic organizations, the people they serve or the general public. You may post calendared events on the events page, non-date specific information on the blog, pictures or video.

Check out the groups created by other members; this is a great place to meet people that share your interest and to ask questions. You may request to join as many groups as you wish or start a new group. The creator of a group sets the parameters for membership. If you have a question about a group, please write to the owner (the person who initiated the group).

If you have questions or suggestions as to how we can make GNH Community more useful please let me know.

GNH Community is funded by The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven.

U.S. News & LISC: On Bridging the Vaccine Distribution Gap

A group of experts, including Julia Ryan, LISC’s VP for Health Programs, gathered for a webinar hosted by U.S. News & World Report, to offer insight and solutions to tackling disparities in COVID vaccination distribution.

‘Who are you? What are you going to do?’ The Role of Trust in Small Business Recovery

When Covid-19 hit the Bronx, NY, a longtime LISC partner, Mosholu Preservation Corp. (MPC), leveraged its hard-won role as a trusted community resource to help small businesses survive lockdown. Now, with support from LISC and MetLife Foundation, MPC is providing the technical assistance and financial resources entrepreneurs need to move on from a year-plus of restrictions and prepare for the challenges that lie ahead.

Setting the Stage for an Equitable Small Business Recovery

Since the onset of the pandemic, LISC has equipped 16,000 small business owners with relief and resilience grants. But to foster opportunity and long-term resiliency for all entrepreneurs who confront entrenched inequities, including people of color, women, immigrants and refugees, and people with lower incomes and wealth, we need a robust universe of small business “ecosystems”: the network of capital, services, and supports that every enterprise needs to get on its feet and grow.
