The Nurturing Families Network Program at the Hospital of Saint Raphael provides information, support, education and community resources to first-time parents in New Haven and surrounding areas. Nurturing Families Network is a state program that seeks to strengthen the bonds between parents and their children, improve healthcare and school readiness outcomes, provides support to new parents as they transition into parenthood, and prevent child abuse and neglect.

Within the Nurturing Families Network Program there are three components:

Home Visiting Program offers weekly home visitation and case management services to our most vulnerable families;

Nurturing Connections Program provides weekly telephone support, topic specific literature, and referral to community service partners;

Parenting Group Program offers a community-based parenting education and support group for families with children ages birth to five years old.

Welcome to Ning! Feel free to check all the tools available. Don´t worry, you can´t break anything; feel free to experiment. If you have any question, send me a message.

On a sidenote, I have been trying to get in touch with someone at St. Raphael to to Food Stamp Outreach; either with the clients at WIC or organize a workshop for case workers and case managers. Anyone I could contact?

(and this is both exhibit A on what we want to do in this network and a real question; it is my day job)
