Mental health recovery in a residential setting Parents’ Foundation for Transitional Living, Inc. is a private, nonprofit mental health residential community dedicated to the recovery of adults with serious and persistent mental illness such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, depression and anxiety disorder. Neighboring Yale University, Parents’ Foundation for Transitional Living, Inc. is located in the heart of cosmopolitan New Haven, Connecticut, a city packed with world-class architecture and alive with culture, offering residents an environment rich in arts, education and leisure opportunities. Residents access the best of care from New Haven’s finest psychiatric and medical providers, hospitals and mental health centers. With a rehabilitative approach, our mental health residential setting provides a warm and comfortable home where residents can stabilize, learn to manage their illness, and live a better life. Distinguishing itself from other mental health residential facilities, Parents’ Foundation for Transitional Living, Inc. is not a psychiatric treatment program, but rather a mental health residential living program focused on rebuilding one’s life in the community.
