The Agency on Aging of South Central Connecticut (AASCC), in collaboration with Project HOPE (Hispanic Outreach Program for Elders) and Asociacion Ministerial Evangelica Hispana de New Haven, will be holding Your Journey to Healthy Living Wellness & Prevention Fair at Star of Jacob Christian Church, 506 Howard Avenue, New Haven, from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m., Thursday, June 21.
Bilingual/bicultural health and information specialists will staff the freefair, and educational materials will be available in English and Spanish. In addition, free health screenings, such as blood pressure, glucose, and cholesterol testing, will be offered; and information and referral specialists will be present to answer questions and provide guidance about community resources available to older adults. Other participating organizations and services include the Connecticut Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, the Connecticut Department of Social Services’ Rx-Xpress Bus, the Social Security Administration, Visiting Nurse Services of Connecticut, Arden House Care and Rehabilitation Center, City Seed, Kool Smiles, Continuum Home Health, Inc.; and Connecticut Lifespan Respite Coalition.
