Actor and SCSU alumnus Dan Lauria, ’70, ("This Is Us," "The Wonder Years") joins actress Wendie Malick ("This Is Us," "Just Shoot Me," "Hot in Cleveland," "Frasier") in THE GUYS, a play by Anne Nelson, about the aftermath of the September 11 attacks. Lauria plays Nick, an FDNY captain who lost most of his men that day. Malick plays Joan, a writer who helps Nick prepare their eulogies. In the process, Nick and Joan discover the possibilities of friendship in each other and their shared love for the unconquerable spirit of the city. As they make their way through the emotional landscape of grief, they draw on humor, tango, the appreciation of craft in all its forms—and the enduring bonds of common humanity.
