Event Description

NEW HAVEN'S 2nd MOVEMENTA Dance Showcase to End Youth Violence” will take place at James Hillhouse Auditorium on April 1st, 2013 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. Suggested donation is $5 and all proceeds are donated to "Save Our Sons", an innovative mentoring program for young men.  This is the second event of the series organized by New Haven Academy Senior Carole Richardson in collaboration with The Future Project in New Haven, a new education initiative that challenges high school students to become social entrepreneurs and build projects that use their passions and dreams to change their schools and communities.  Carole's passion is ending youth violence and she wants to do this by bringing youth, families, and all of New Haven together to make a community, have fun and give to a great cause.  Dance groups from Wilbur Cross High School, Metropolitan Business Academy, and Hamden High School will be showcased, as well as individual young artists from New Haven.  Come out Monday April 1st, 5:30 - 7:30 PM to support the hard work, dreams, and inspirations of these young people who, like Carole, are passionate about ending youth violence in New Haven.  Attn: Carole Richardson, Caarole.richardson@gmail.com(203) 321-5974.  "NEW HAVEN'S 2nd MOVEMENT: A Dance Showcase to End Youth Violence", James Hillhouse High School Auditorium, 480 Sherman Parkway, April 1, 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 PM.  We hope to see you there!
