VSAAC is inviting you to attend a free coach's / parent's seminar to refresh your knowledge on why athletes may engage in substance use and how you can have the power to influence to keep them safe. Today, our students face many pressures to excel in all areas of their lives. Many times athletes have additional pressures such as: the pressure to win, perform well and maintain a cool image. These pressures whether perceived or real by the athlete can lead them down a destructive and even fatal path, sometimes completely accidental.
VSAAC invites you to join us for a special free two hour breakfast workshop designed for coaches, educators and youth workers. The program features a workshop provided by Donald Hooton of Taylor Hooton Foundation, a nationally renowned organization whose mission is to educate North America's youth and their adult influencers about the dangers of anabolic steroids and Appearance and Performance Enhancing Drugs (APEDs). In addition, VSAAC will present the
"Maximizing Your Role as a Teen Influencer" program which discusses
the epidemic of prescription drug misuse / abuse facing our nation and our teens. VSAAC will provide you with 1 CT State Dept. of Education continuing education unit for attending the session. VSAAC looks forward to meeting and working with you
