PodCamp Returns to Connecticut in 2012
PodCampCT, a gathering where Connecticut social-media enthusiasts trade tips, swap ideas, & get to know each other “in the real world,” is returning to New Haven on May 12.
Geared toward social media novices as well as experienced users, PodCampCT operates on a proven organizational scheme known as the “unconference:” Participants set an agenda of session topics the day of the event, to ensure that discussions are relevant and timely. Traditional presentation slides and keynote speeches are scrapped, in favor of free-flowing interaction. All participants are encouraged to contribute, and to “vote with their feet” by switching sessions if they’re not getting a useful experience.
The first PodCampCT, in October 2010, attracted nearly 100 participants, including:
Traditional-media professionals adapting their work to Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and other social media platforms;
Marketers and communicators embracing social media as central to their businesses; and
Nonprofits, artists and entrepreneurs eager to harness social media to connect with supporters, partners and customers.
