March of the Living is an annual educational program, which brings students from all over the world to Poland, in order to study the history of the Holocaust and to examine the roots of prejudice, intolerance and hate.
March of the Living is a 3-kilometre walk from Auschwitz from Birkenau as a silent tribute to all victims of the Holocaust. Holocaust survivors share the memory of their wartime experiences with the young people in the very places where they unfolded.
2013 marks the 25th anniversary of the March of the Living. It is also the 70th anniversary of the heroic Warsaw Ghetto Uprising and a special effort it being made to include resistance fighters and education about resistance in the 2013 March.
