Event Description

On November 1,  2013 NHLSCP will launch it’s Nicaragua Carbon Offset Fund, created to collect carbon ‘offsets’ and invest donated funds in projects that will decrease greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. The Fund will invite people in the New Haven area to offset greenhouse gases created by driving of flying. 

NH/LSCP will collect the offset funds though our donation page (or by check) and distribute periodically to either:

  • NH/LSCP Leόn efforts supporting the installation of more efficient cook stoves in rural Nicaragua where we work.  The cleaner efficient wood stoves (and possibly solar cookers), reduce greenhouse gases, decrease pollution responsible for respiratory disease, and reduce funds/time people need to spend collecting/buying fuel.
