Event Description

Habitat for Humanity of Greater New Haven will hold an Applicant Information Meeting for the Habitat Homebuyers Program on Thursday, July 16, 6:00-7:30pm, at the New Haven Public Library (Ives Main Library--lower level Program Room) located at 133 Elm Street, New Haven.  Metered parking is available in the vicinity of the library.  No pre-registration is required.

The purpose of the meeting is to explain how Habitat’s homeownership program works and what the eligibility requirements are.  Habitat plans to build several new 3-bedroom, single-family homes in New Haven.

Pre-application materials will be available for families who are interested in applying.  Applicants must meet the minimum income requirement (based on HUD income limits) to be eligible and have good credit.  Families selected for homeownership are required to put in 400 hours of “sweat equity” on their home and the home of another Habitat family.

For more information, please contact the Habitat office at (203) 785-0794.
