Florida-based poet and educator Brendan Walsh brings his summer poetry tour to The Poetry Institute in New Haven, CT. Join him and The Institute Library for an evening of stirring literary work and performance!
Living Things: The Great American Poetry Crawl, sponsored by Sutra Press, is harnessing the fellowship of writing by connecting to independent literary communities up and down the East Coast. This reading tour stretches from Florida to Rhode Island; Walsh is also conducting interviews with local poets in each city, creating a video series that illustrates the reciprocal relationship between poetry and place.
On the third Thursday of each month, New Haven's Poetry Institute celebrates an eclectic mix of poetic voices. All members of the public are invited to bring something to share for the open mic while enjoying fellowship and refreshments in a casual setting. Open mic sign-up begins at 6:30pm; reading begins at 7:00pm.
Join Brendan and The Poetry Institute for an immersive reading in exploration of the joy, contradiction, heartache and wonder of being! This event is free and open to the public; follow on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/events/2142874789164919/
