Natural cordage is string or rope made from plant materials. There are various native plants at Rocky Corner that can be used for cordage: milkweed, dogbane, cattails.
We may also experiment with some invasives: bittersweet, mugwort. We will learn to identify and conserve the plants. Marie will demonstrate how to strip the materials into stringy sections and how to twist it into cordage. Hopefully we will all end up with something finished to take home.
