Forum Theater, A Tool for Transforming Communities: 3-day Training for Facilitators.

Friday, Sept. 20 - Sunday, Sept. 22

Are you a social worker, activist or artist who wants to learn a new facilitation skill? No theater experience is necessary! Forum theater is a fun and transformative tool that brings people together to brainstorm about human rights problems in their own lives and communities. Sliding scale $90 - $150. Scholarships available. Training takes place Friday 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm, Saturday 9:30 am - 6:00 pm, and Sunday 9:30 am - 5:00 pm, with a performance of forum theater skits (open to the public) on Sunday 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Those who cannot attend the full weekend can attend the Friday night intro session. Location: Bregamos Theater, 491 Blatchley Ave., New Haven. Presentation of Forum Theater Skits.
Sunday, Sept. 22, 5 pm - 7 pm
Come take part in an interactive performance based on the lives, hopes and dreams of Greater New Haven residents. Forum theater is a fun and transformative tool that brings people together to investigate oppression in their community and brainstorm solutions. This performance will be created by ordinary people during the process of a 3-day workshop.  Free. Donations welcome. Location: Bregamos Theater, 491 Blatchley Ave., New Haven.
