FELLOW BOATERS Neighbors, Residents
Now is the time to come to the defense of our waterway!*

THIS 4TH OF JULY WEEKEND, JOIN A MASS PROCESSION OF BOATS TO PROTEST
THE ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS’ PLAN TO DUMP 250,000 CUBIC YARDS OF TOXIC
DREDGING WASTE IN NEW HAVEN HARBOR.

WHERE:  Morris Cove right over the proposed dumping site (marked by orange buoys) a few hundred yards off Sea Wall Park. NON-BOATERS can demonstrate their support and view the action along with our political
representatives at Sea Wall Park.

WHEN:  Sunday, July 3rd, 2:00 to 3:15 p.m. Assemble 2:00 p.m.
Procession around orange buoys 2:30 p.m.

WHY:  Show the politicians and the ACE that the Cove and outer harbor
are recreational waters, not a dump for carcinogens. Let them see our
boating community's determination to protect New Haven Harbor's
recovering environmental health.

AFTERWARDS: You are invited to stop by at the New Haven Yacht Club for some refreshment and a chance to interact with fellow demonstrators
(see note below**)

In the spirit of the 4th, stand up for what’s right!

*  NHPower is the sponsor of this event. For more info about us or the event, please go to our website at http://nhpower.yolasite.com or

**The NHYC dock is a short way to the west of Anthony’s Catering. Except for kayaks, canoes and dinghies that can be tied to the west side of the dock or pulled up on shore, visiting boaters are asked to anchor at the edge of the mooring field and radio on 68 for the club launch to bring you in, or sound an air horn three times.  Please
don’t tie up at vacant moorings.

Investing In A Future For Us All: LISC’s 2023 Annual Report is here!

It was a year of new leadership, new vision and renewed commitment. We invested an extraordinary $2.4 billion and doubled down on our work to create affordable housing, catalyze financial opportunity and promote climate resiliency. And so much more.

Meaningful Engagement: A Key to Equitable Climate Action in Community Development

In her chapter from What’s Possible: Investing NOW for Prosperous, Sustainable Neighborhoods, LISC’s Madeline del Carmen Fraser Cook, who also co-edited the book, explores the imperative of authentic community engagement in the work of supporting historically underinvested places to become more energy efficient and climate resilient. It’s a process that demands insight, bona fide listening and what she describes as “working at the speed of trust.”

LISC and Partners Launch “What’s Possible”: A Blueprint for Sustainable American Communities

LISC, Enterprise Community Partners and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York have published What's Possible: Investing NOW for Prosperous, Sustainable Neighborhoods. With contributions from LISC green and financing experts, the volume is a timely and crucial guidebook to equitable green investing and community development and especially timely on the heels of the historic $20 billion in federal investment to expand access to clean energy and climate solutions.
