On March 31st from 6-7pm, Environment Connecticut and our allies are gathering to host a Clean Water Reception to thank the vocal leaders for clean water across the state. Currently, 52% of Connecticut’s streams are without the federal backing of the Clean Water Act. Fortunately, last March, the EPA proposed a rule that would restore Clean Water Act protections to all of these. Connecticut’s elected officials have been champions for the rule, with vocal leaders including Senator Blumenthal, Senator Murphy, and Representative DeLauro.
Now, it is up to concerned citizens, small businesses, and community leaders to gather and show support for this proposed rule. On March 31st, from 6-7 pm, folks with gather at the New Haven Free Public Library’s Wilson Branch to show their support for protecting Connecticut’s waterways. This event is open to the public and free of charge. Come learn about water issues in the state, meet other concerned citizens, and say thank you to our officials working to protect our state’s waterways.
