Event Description

"If you want to join the fight to save the planet, to save creation for your grandchildren, there is no more effective step you could take than becoming an active member of Citizens' Climate Lobby."

Dr. James Hansen, Climate scientist & former head of the NASA Goddard Institute

We know you are concerned about climate change and perhaps looking for a new way to truly make a difference. The challenge is so large that governments must get involved. Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) has been effective in getting legislators in Washington to begin to move on climate - with 28 R & 28 D currently in the House Climate Solutions Caucus.

We are holding a Climate Advocate Training workshop on Sunday, October 8, 2017 in the Bowers Auditorium, Sage Hall, 205 Prospect St, New Haven, CT. Please join us and spread the word to your peers, friends, and colleagues by inviting them via this event page.

The workshop is free and will gather concerned citizens together to inspire and teach us the nuts and bolts of building political will and effecting change in positive, constructive ways. Our goal is to break through the myth that we don’t make a difference!

The workshop will include inspiring and provocative presentations, group and paired discussions, a time in which we will learn to speak about an issue, and a time to practice meeting with a member of Congress, all as a step toward having our members of Congress become champions for a sustainable climate. You will all have the opportunity to join the CCL of Greater New Haven group.

Roger Kuhns, the CCL Mystic, CT co-leader and state coordinator for CCL in Connecticut, will be leading the workshop.

When you are filling out the registration form, please let us know if you will be able to bring any snacks to share! We will have some snacks for you but more are definitely welcome!

Again, please let us know if you are planning to attend. You can RSVP http://bit.ly/CCL-OCT8.
