Bestselling author Chris Bohjalian, perhaps best-known for his novel Midwives, will give a talk and booksigning on the subject of his latest novel, The Sandcastle Girls. Bohjalian's 15th book, The Sandcastle Girls travels between Aleppo, Syria, in 1915 and Bronxville, New York, in 2012-a sweeping historical love story steeped in the author's Armenian heritage, making it his most personal novel to date.
The book is getting a lot of buzz and is already a New York Times bestseller, a Publishers' Weekly bestseller, an Indiebound Bestseller, and an Oprah.com "Book of the Week." More info on the book and Bohjalian are available at http://www.chrisbohjalian.com/the_sandcastle_girls
Bohjalian's appearance is one of a series of campus events to celebrate the inauguration of SCSU's 11th president, Mary A. Papazian, Ph.D.
