Event Description

The ideal candidate will have a track record of successful leadership and individual giving experience, will be able to craft and execute donor-centric cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, and will be passionate about helping people in need and promoting community philanthropy.   

 

  • Develop, implement an annual plan for individual giving, emphasis on maintaining and growing leadership support.
  • Ensure revenue growth by employing donor-centric strategies, aligning donor interests with UWGNH priorities, build robust prospect pipeline through communication, outreach, engagement.
  • Identify new ways to drive, generate individual giving revenue.
  • Engage, manage board members, other volunteers to help execute UWGNH’s fundraising strategy.
  • Staff UWGNH Development Committee. Attend board meetings as needed.
  • Facilitate relationships between senior staff, leadership donors/prospects.
  • Oversee, collaborate on donor research, gift documentation, gift acknowledgement, donor stewardship.
  • Manage, grow Affinity Groups for leadership donors. 
  • Create, implement planned giving program.
  • Oversee direct mail campaigns.
  • Plan, implement a range of events for donor outreach, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship.
  • Work with Communications Team, develop annual plan of donor communication that includes phone, email, regular mail, social media, website, print collateral.
  • Be present, visible in community, with partners (donors, volunteers), representing UWGNH at community events.
  • Collaborate effectively within the organization, working cross-functionally with all departments.
  • Establish effective, efficient processes that align department priorities with UWGNH’s goals, strategy, mission.
  • Report on activities, measuring outcomes against organizational goals, the annual plan of development.
  • Supervise assigned staff.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field required (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in fund development, including demonstrated success in leadership giving. Experience in a structured nonprofit development setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the local philanthropic community.
  • Thorough knowledge of development principles and practices; demonstrated experience with a moves management model, gift tracking/processing, technology-based fundraising strategies, direct mail programs, donor relations and data management.
  • Demonstrated success in leading major fundraising initiatives and accomplishing contributed income goals for a nonprofit.
  • Ability to work with diverse staff and volunteers.
  • Proven ability to direct, lead, coach and mentor a team in achieving organizational goals.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks in order to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a clear, 'on-target' writing style.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain positive and engaging relationships.
  • Experience utilizing a development relationship management database.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new software applications to support development work.
  • Proactive and strategic thinker with the ability to work both individually and collaboratively.
  • Strong commitment to maintaining integrity and confidentiality of donor information.

EPA Awards GRID Alternatives Solar for All Grant
