Kathleen,

Welcome to GNH Community, glad to have you join us. Members may post information that they think will be of interest to nonprofits, civic organizations, the people they serve or the general public. You may request to join as many groups as you wish or start a new group. The creator of a group sets the parameters for membership. If you have a question about a group, please write to the owner (the person who initiated the group). Local Initiatives Support Corporation

Double Down on ‘Local’ to Empower Families and Communities

From pandemic relief to racial equity, success is as dependent on a strong social infrastructure in communities as it is on the dollars that flow through it, writes LISC President Denise Scott, in a new commentary. “To support just and resilient communities, we must invest in the capacity of place-based organizations to plan, execute, measure, adjust and sustain community development gains.”

A LISC Program to Train Affordable Housing Developers is Sparking New Work—and Networks—in Newark

LISC has been running its Housing Development Training Institute programs for more than 30 years, helping emerging affordable housing professionals hone their skills and make connections. Now LISC Newark has launched its own HDTI to grow the pool of developers of color and reinvigorate industry networks that are imperative to accessing capital and creating the quality affordable housing that New Jersey communities desperately need.

ACDC Preserves Vital Affordable Housing in Boston’s Chinatown

The Asian Community Development Corporation (ACDC) sought to purchase a mixed use building with 14 residential units and a longtime restaurant to preserve affordability for tenants.
