Location: Sew Crafty, 87 Audubon Street, New Haven, CT

Join us for a week-long theater puppetry class for tweens and kids 8 and up. Theater artist Charles G. Baldwin uses drama exercises and narrative play to teach students how to design, build, and animate puppets in a series of classes designed to combine craft with storytelling. These immersive classes will develop vocal, movement, and team-building skills through the practice of puppetry. The Puppet Theater Project concludes with a Puppet Show on Friday for family and friends.

Suggested for tweens and kids 8+

Charles G. Baldwin is a professional theatre artist who has taught stagecraft and puppet workshops to young people at the Wheelock Family Theatre in Boston MA. Charles has designed for the stages of Wheelock, the Harwich Junior Theatre, PALS Children’s Chorus, the Joe Goode Performance Group, CityStage, and the Gold Dust Orphans. He was the Central Production Coordinator for the DreamWorks animated feature film Shrek. Charles works for the Massachusetts Cultural Council leading the UP Inclusive Design Initiative.

This is an EcoWorks workshop hosted by Sew Crafty at 87 Audubon Street in New Haven.  Tuition is $165 for 15 hours of instruction and includes a $10 voucher towards materials from EcoWorks.
