The Perfect Biscuits & Scones: Baking with Adrienne Kane
Talented local cookbook author and cooking instructor Adrienne Kane will demystify the world of scratch made biscuits and scones, making them a go-to versatile recipe for a weekend brunch or dinner with friends. Participants will make flaky southern buttermilk biscuits and sweet potato biscuits, as well as two types of scones. Learn multiple techniques for achieving flaky baked goods, working with an assortment of grain flours as well as variations for shaping and cutting doughs.
The Kitchen at CitySeed is located in the CitySeed office at 817 Grand Ave - two blocks from State St and downtown New Haven. Free parking available along Grand Ave and on surrounding streets.

Adrienne Kane is a food writer and culinary instructor, originally from the California Bay Area, now living in New Haven, Connecticut. She is the author of United States of Bread (Running Press, 2014), United States of Pie (Ecco, 2012) and a food memoir, Cooking and Screaming (Simon Spotlight, 2009). Her writings and recipes have also been featured on Woman’s Day, Natural Health Magazine, Prevention, and The New York Times, to name a few. She also contributed regularly to the New Haven Advocate/CT Now, writing about local food culture.
Her blog, Nosheteria, is about what she eats on a weekly basis. It features recipes, musings and stories about food and her life in New Haven, CT.
