Event Description

The Greater New Haven Community Chorus is excited to host SoulFolk singer and songwriter Lea Morris for a special program on the music of the American Civil Right Movement from the 1940's, 50's and 60's. This special event will combine performance, sing-along, and discussion of the role of music in the movement.

LEA has shared the stage with luminaries including Odetta, Mavis Staples, Dar Williams and Anthony Hamilton, and she performs at a far-ranging array of venues, including arts centers, universities, festivals, and places of worship. She is consistently acknowledged by the Washington Area Music Association as one of the region's best vocalists, songwriters and recording artists. She will be joining us  from Germany via Zoom.
