Explore the social, political, and cultural upheavals of the 1960s through the music of the Kronos Quartet. The ensemble performs Zachary J. Watkins’s “Peace Be Till”, which is inspired by the moment just before Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech and features the voice of Dr. King’s speechwriter and friend, Dr. Clarence B. Jones. The program also includes a celebration of the music of political activist and American folk music icon Pete Seeger.
