Lee, thanks for the warm welcome to ning. In a couple of months I'm going to be launching a new website for the Parent Child Resource Center and including a blog and I will be sure to post links. In the meantime, I will also be sure to post information on upcoming events as well as some info in National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day, which is May 6, 2010.
Thanks Lee, this site looks like a great resource. I'm starting a website here in New Haven;
GiftFlow is a social website for building local gift economies. On your profile, you post everything you need and everything you have to give away; such as an hour of volunteer time or a winter jacket. Users give to each other, rewarding the generosity of others. Its a beautifully simple system that reduces waste and meets a neighborhood's needs. GiftFlow also works to help non-profits and community organizations. They can start profiles as well, asking for the donations and volunteers they need.
I thought you might be interested in what we are doing. So far our team is made up of five students. We are working hard to get a functional version of the site up and running soon, hopefully by July. Right now you can play around with what we have online, but it doesn't quite work yet.
Any advice, especially about starting a website in New Haven, would be greatly appreciated. We are looking for help and advice with the development of the site, the legal work of applying for non-profit status and the business management involved in starting our organization. I'd be happy to answer any questions about our project and will definitely keep you updated.
Hi Lee,
Thanks for the welcome! Things are a little quiet on Southern's campus over the summer, but I will post news items and events as they come up. I'm looking forward to being a part of this online community.

thanks Lee, I joined because I have an upcoming talk at the library, and I will post articles as you suggest or items of interest to the arts community, thanks again, best, brainard
cool, i just joined, this, thanks for passing it on, carol made an event already and I posted it in my status on here, as always, I appreciate your support and enthusiasm, -b
Thanks Lee. I had already added the event and so I went back and uploaded the PDF that Chris created. I am here for Iris and Clothes without Borders, yes. Although I plan to learn more about the site and speak with you about other ways I might be able to make us of it in my Moms4MedMod mission.
Thanks so much Lee! We've actually met indirectly. I'm a Public Ally and you gave us a wonderful tour of Fair Haven in September. I just posted a Community Conversation Event the New Haven Public Allies will be hosting next Monday, Dec. 13th, to generate ideas for a peace event as part of our team service project. We hope you will be able to attend. You stood out as a model to us, an exemplar of community organizing and community love!
Thanks Lee, I have posted two events, Jazztini and our Showcase. I really like the way the site creates a slideshow of images from each group. That is so very cool.
