TEAM, Inc., a non-profit social service agency serving the lower Naugatuck Valley, has the following opportunity in its quality Early Education program located in Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Derby, Milford, Seymour and Shelton:
Full-time position available to oversee the education component of Early Education programs including Head Start, School Readiness and Child Day Care. Primary responsibilities include 1) supervision and support of coordinators and teaching staff, 2) training and orientation of staff and volunteers, 3) oversight of NAEYC accreditation for multiple sites, 4) analysis and monitoring of of child outcomes. Duties also include disabilities and mental health responsibilities, such as determinations of special needs services, referrals to LEA, advice to staff and families regarding special needs, and acting as liaison to external agencies serving children with identified special needs (monitoring screenings, referrals, and PPT’s).
Candidates should possess a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (Master’s degree preferred) and 5+ years relevant experience with at least 2+ years of supervisory experience. Successful candidate must possess: 1) strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, 2) thorough understanding of early childhood development, 3) knowledge of specials needs including PPT process, 4) experience with NAEYC accreditation, and 5) solid computer skills. Knowledge of Head Start performance standards is a plus.
