We need to find 100 volunteers to help prepare taxes for low-income individuals in New Haven from January to April 15. The need is great, and the results are amazing. Imagine participating in a race or a gala that could raise $5,000,000. That's how much we hope to refund to New Haven residents. $5 million dollars invested back into the community. All we need to reach the goal is find 100 people who are willing to give one night a week for 14 weeks. But where do we find 100 people in two months? Any ideas?

Are you using Facebook and Twitter effectively? They are awesome resources when applied with strategic focus. You may already be doing this, and, of course, you are using 211.org and UW sites. How are you doing on the effort? What number are you up to at this point? Posting that is usefull because people always want to do what other people are already doing. Wish I had a magic bulet to offer you, good luck.
For some reason, everyone in New Haven that likes to volunteer reads the New Haven Independent - send an e-mail to Paul Bass, he will definitely run something.
Besides that, the interwebs do help! I am sure that a few people around here have a good twitter account with tons of New Haven followers that can spread the word - and of course, Facebook does work, specially in this hyperlocal projects.
Of course, we can also put up a VITA recruiting group together here and in Facebook - let´s build something! :-)
Jim, Send me a Twitter message content and I will send it out through our CCC Twitter network.
