Here is a brief overview of what you will find as you navigate through the new site:
* For investors: they offer an easy way to browse investment opportunities in developing countries. The Marketplace (beta) currently features opportunities in sub-Saharan Africa with more coming soon.
* For businesses in developing countries: In as little as 30 minutes businesses can apply to be featured in the Marketplace (beta). They will also be featuring resources and tools to help businesses grow.
* For the social investment community: As part of their blog, they will be active in scanning the news and providing thoughts and ideas for building the middle markets in developing countries.

Is this one of those microlending sites? The good ones are actually really powerful - they are good agents of change. I will have a look.
On a sidenote, anyone knows if there is similar things but for cities in the US? New Haven will surely offer this kind of opportunities as well, and the big banks don´t seem to be lending!

This idea is similar to the Micro lending tools out there...as far as New Haven is concerned I thing the new community bank that Bill Placke is trying to open in Fair Haven has a chance to do some of these creative ideas to micro funding. We definitely need it in our urban neighborhoods.
