Join author, historian, and librarian Joseph A. Williams as he presents the true story of HMS Laurentic, sunk by German mines off the coast of Ireland during the Great War in his book, The Sunken Gold: A Story of World War I Espionage and the Greatest Treasure Salvage in History. Williams brings this exciting, true tale of undersea diving and naval operations to life, exemplifying human persistence, bravery and patriotism as Royal Navy divers struggled to recover 44 tons of gold bullion for the war effort.
