Sydney Perry, Rachel Light, and exhibiting artist Aviva Klein will appear on a free panel to discuss the issues surrounding agunot, or “chained women.” Agunot are Orthodox Jewish women who cannot remarry because their husbands refuse to grant them a gett, or an official halakhic divorce document.
This panel will accompany Aviva’s JCC exhibit “In the Shadows,” a photographic portrait series featuring agunot.
