“The pieces in the show are all monotypes made in the“plein air” style. I paint onto a metal etching plate with oil based printing inks that I loosen with turp and linseed oil. This I bring back to my studio where I print the image on paper using a Brand printing press. The work is as much about the art making process as it is about the subject matter which is the modern day landscape and its ephemeral nature. I express the yin and yang of painting and the elements of art and try to balance all these elements to create a dance of visual pleasure.”
