The Arts Council of Greater New Haven hosts the Audubon Arts Crawl, June 26, 5-8pm featuring an evening of artists’ receptions, live performances, tastings, and more at various locations in the Audubon Arts District.

Spectra 2014 is an annual members’ show of the Photo Arts Collective, an Arts Council program whose mission is to cultivate and support a community of individuals who share an interest in photography, through workshops, lectures, exhibitions, portfolio reviews, group critiques, and special events.

Student Show at Creative Arts Workshop
80 Audubon Street

The Student Show is an exhibition featuring the new work of Creative Arts Workshop students of all ages and skill levels. This unique exhibition showcases the diversity of styles and breadth of creativity that is fostered at the Workshop.

Doll-Like at John Slade Ely Center for Contemporary Art
52 Trumbull Street

Doll-Like is inspired by universal icons that offer social, political, historical context to explore issues about personal and cultural identity, gender roles, play, heritage, magic, ritual, childhood, and memory. A special one night only performance by featured artist Kimberly Mikenis is set for 7pm.

Stop by the new Chinese gallery in the district and see the work of eight artists, six of them local and six from China.

Enjoy the Silence: Work by Gonzalo Zuniga-Vergara at Katalina’s Bakery

According to Gonzalo, “As humans we are constantly trying to make sense of the world around us. Our visual perceptual process has always played with natural forms and their ability to create illusions.” His ink drawings on view in the bakery are of nature and animal hybrids designed to arouse your own visual perception. A live music performance is scheduled. 

Value Systems at The New Haven Museum
114 Whitney Avenue

New Haven Museum’s ground-breaking new exhibition in collaboration with Artspace couples material from the Flatfile’s holdings of contemporary art with selections from the New Haven Museum’s historical collections. This is the first time the Flatfile collections have been shown in a museum context.

Nothing is Set in Stone: The Lincoln Oak and the New Haven Green at The New Haven Museum

This exhibition pairs powerful interpretive art created by Connecticut artists with scientific analysis by noted bioarchaeologists. The exhibition is an informative and revelatory tribute to the historic Lincoln Oak on the New Haven Green that was toppled during Hurricane Sandy in 2012.
