GNH-VOTE 2018 - The Greater New Haven Voter Engagement Initiative
GNH-Vote 2018 is a nonpartisan initiative that gives service providers the tools and resources to increase the engagement and voter registration of historically disenfranchised community members.
Participating Organizations Will Receive:
- A civic engagement grant of $1,000 for providing $100 stipends to individuals supporting the voter engagement effort and for voter engagement materials.
- Training and support for conducting voter registration and voter pledge activities and other voter engagement.
- Resources and tools for a successful voter registration and pledge to vote program.
- Opportunities for peer learning.
- Evaluation and analysis for your voter engagement activities.

Dr. Kathryn Bocanegra and Dr. Shani Buggs, eminent researchers and experts on the work of community violence intervention, have published, together with LISC, Supporting the Frontline Through Community Healing: Advancing Science on Violence Intervention Outreach and Trauma Exposure. Manufactured housing, which 20 million Americans call home, is one of the few affordable housing options in the United States. The residents of two Washington State mobile home communities recently succeeded in purchasing their parks with help from ROC USA and over $2 million in financing from Rural LISC. As a result, they have been able to stabilize their housing costs, upgrade their communities and remain in the places they love.
