Deputy Director for Development and Programs
Junta for Progressive Action seeks a Deputy Director. The purpose of this role is to support the executive director in the development and implementation of the organization’s strategic plans and policies, and to provide leadership and direction to Junta and other staff. Reporting to the executive director (ED), the Deputy Director will have both internal and external facing responsibilities, ranging from client and project management (business and fundraising development, framing of key approaches, high-quality client delivery,) to administration (information technology, reporting, facilities), and human capital (HR/recruiting, mentoring, career progression). The Deputy Director will partner closely with the ED to chart Junta’s future growth and strategic response to an ever-increasing demand for the organization’s services and programs.

About Junta
JUNTA for Progressive Action (“JUNTA”) is New Haven’s oldest Latino community based organization. Its mission is to provide services, programs and advocacy that improve the social, political and economic conditions of the Latino community in Greater New Haven, while nurturing and promoting its cultural traditions as it builds bridges with other communities. For the past thirty-seven years, JUNTA has been an advocate and direct provider of programs and services to New Haven’s Latino immigrant population and low to moderate income residents of New Haven. JUNTA offers programs in the area of Adult Education, Children’s Afterschool and Summer Programs, Cultural Awareness, Economic Development, Family Management, Immigrant Rights and Legal Advocacy.
