IRIS - Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services (a New Haven based nonprofit, officially recognized by the Board of Immigration Appeals, U.S. Department of Justice) helps refugees and other displaced people establish new lives, regain hope, and contribute to the vitality of Connecticut’s communities. Since 1982, IRIS has resettled more than 4,000 refugees in the New Haven area. Invited by the government to start new lives in the U.S., refugees are legal documented immigrants who fled persecution. They come from countries all over the world, including Liberia, Rwanda, Afghanistan, Cuba, and Iraq. IRIS provides basic needs such as housing, food, and clothing, assistance with health care and education, English language instruction, and individualized employment training and job development. The goal is to help refugees become self sufficient as quickly as possible.

Please post information about the store that the staff of other nonprofits can share with their clients, pictures are not necessary but always good, they increase the probability that a visitor will look. Also post information about needs, including volunteers and your events. I will use Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn to spread the word. Good luck, Lee
