Free office furniture available to qualified New Haven area nonprofits

Prudential is donating surplus office furniture to local, qualified nonprofits as part of the company's ongoing efforts to strengthen local communities. 

All items are used and will be donated "as is." Items will be made available on a first come first served basis and must be reserved by Monday, April 22 and picked up by April 30. Pick-up costs and arrangements are the responsibility of the receiving organization.  

The available items are:

  • Lateral file cabinets 
  • Round tables ranging in size from 30 to 54 inches 
  • Rectangular table (48 x 96 inches) 
  • Whiteboards 
  • Corkboards 
  • Tackboards 

Various other furniture pieces are also available for the "Steelcase Answer" system, a modular work station system. If an entity has this particular work station system and would like to obtain pieces, more specific information is available upon request. Any costs associated with the design and installations of these pieces are also the responsibility of the receiving organization. 

Any interested nonprofit organizations should contact Wendy Fatum no later than April 22 at wendy.fatum@prudential.com. Please note that certain paperwork must be completed and returned prior to Prudential’s release of these surplus items.

An article in the Bay Area magazine Gentry takes a careful look at how Partnership for the Bay's Future, LISC's collaboration with the San Francisco Foundation, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, Genentech, the Ford Foundation, Kaiser Permanente and others is tackling the region's extreme affordable housing shortage, alongside transportation access and economic opportunity. "Housing has to be considered everybody's challenge and everybody's opportunity," says LISC CEO Maurice A. Jones in the piece.
