Hi GNH Community!
Happy New Year 2013!  Thank You SO much to everyone who came out on Monday to support Carole's Future Project!  We wanted to share with you the beautiful photos from this very special event (HUGE thank you to Jeffrey Kerekes from "I Love New Haven"!)  Senior Carole Richardson of New Haven Academy truly brought her dream to life of bringing the New Haven community together to be inspired and entertained.  She is passionate about ending youth violence and wanted to build a Future Project that addressed that through dance and community-building.
"NEW HAVEN'S MOVEMENT: a Dance Showcase to End Youth Violence" took place on Monday at Hillhouse High School from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.  We had an amazing turn-out of about 120 attendees that included students, adults, kids, and family members from all over New Haven and raised $333 for Save Our Sons mentoring program in New Haven.  You can see our WTNH Community Article here!
Carole worked so hard to make this event possible including reaching out and collaborating with dancers and poets from all over New Haven.  Although it was very challenging at times, she learned to creatively problem-solve, always look forward and pushed herself to never give up even when she wanted to stop.  I am SO inspired by all her hard work and endless effort in truly making her vision come alive.  Thank you so much for all your support.  We will continue to keep you in the loop of upcoming Future Project launch events as they develop!  Have a great day and hope to see you soon!
