Care 4 Kids Program Will Remain Open Through February 28

Probably most of you already know, but a good reminder:





Connecticut’s Care 4 Kids child care assistance program continues to be open for services to eligible working families. In addition, the program has raised the income limit to allow more working families to qualify.

Improving access to programs: EarnBenefits is coming!

EarnBenefits is an online screening took created by Seedco that allows us to screen a client for 8 to 10 benefits at once. Possibilities...

Sitting in Junta, at the GNH Community workshop, imaging what the possibilities of this site could be. The first thing is to get people on board, and then learn how to use it efficiently. I am currently on a few listservs related to non-profits in New Haven and can imagine them working through this site. These include CityWide Youth Coalition, Executive Director breakfast group, the Chamber's Non Profit Resource Council, the I <3 New Haven Non-Profits, etc. Hmmm.

Perspectives on Michigan Value-Based Purchasing & Pay for Success

In a new report, LISC's Pay for Success team and its partners built out the tools to address social determinants of health leveraging the innovative Pay for Success model. Their research included interviews with managed care organizations and two focus groups to collect participant reflections on their personal experiences. Due to timing, the focus group data was not incorporated into the original report. Below, the PFS team walks through the additional perspectives that were gained from our partner, CHRT's, focus group research. 

Innovation in Child Welfare Through Pay for Success

LISC’s Pay for Success team shares an update on Safe Families for Children and our new report that covers the barriers and opportunities for innovation within the child welfare system. Making a City Yours: The Story of Milwaukee’s ACRE Program

In 2004, Mark Eppli noticed a problem. The Marquette University professor became acutely aware of the critically low rates of people of color working in commercial real estate development in Milwaukee. Not one to walk away from a problem, he set off to find a solution with the help of Milwaukee’s community leaders, politicians and local organizations. What he built became the Associates in Commercial Real Estate, or ACRE, a program that has become a mainstay in the city. LISC’s Tope Folarin shares the story of how ACRE got started, the impact it has had in the city, and the inspiring graduates who help keep it moving forward.
