The Open Streets Project is partnering with the non-profit organization New Brunswick Tomorrow to deliver an educational Open Streets Study Tour in New Brunswick, NJ from October 6th - October 8th. The Study Tour will feature classroom sessions, networking opportunities, a behind the scenes tour of New Brunswick’s industry leading Ciclovia.

Open Streets Project Revamped

The Open Streets Project has undergone some changes over the last year. We bid a sad farewell to project co-founder, the Alliance for Biking & Walking, who are moving on to other things, and we happily welcomed a new partner, international Open Streets leader 8 80 Cities. We are excited for all the possibilities and energy this partnership will bring.

With or Without Amazon, Indy’s a Contender

Indianapolis is one of the 20 finalists in the online retail juggernaut’s search for a second headquarters, and it’s got all the right components: flourishing infrastructure, a growing tech scene and affordability. According to a close-up look in Curbed, the city’s efforts to promote inclusive development, with big involvement from LISC, are strengthening neighborhoods and creating opportunity, Amazon or no Amazon.

Duluth Raises the Curtain on a Dynamic New Theater

In an op-ed for the Duluth News-Tribune, LISC Duluth’s director Pam Kramer describes how the renovated NorShor Theatre, a historic Art Deco gem, will help anchor the city’s efforts to spark an arts and culture economy. A complex set of public-private partnerships brought the theater back to life, and will nurture local artists, launch arts programs and create good jobs.
